McKechnie is a former reporter and news photographer, and (most recently)
a book and travel DVD author, and producer of “how-to”videos. Throughout a lifetime of travels, McKechnie has gathered extensive information and photos of the Northwest. “I once had a plan to begin a guide service, but I fell in love with photographing the magnificent scenery of the Great North West and sharing the results through my videos, images, and virtual tours.” Specializing in photographing sights in the State of Oregon, McKechnie has traveled throughout the U. S. but has found no place with such scenic diversity as this state. He also has an incredible curiosity, always wondering what's over the next rise or around the bend. McKechnie finds the most interesting sights and further investigates the history of the region. While the chief focus of the DVDs is travel-related, there are titles that appeal to those interested in the “old ways,” through the Pioneer Craft Series, which he produces jointly with a historical preservation group. |
